Hey there prob a long shot but by any chance do you like acoustic pop punk, if so you might be interested in this new acoustic project from the UK called All For Amends , i started it about a month ago and im not sure about it yet if you know what i mean, if you want to find it on facebook just type in /allforamendsuk thats if you like that sort of stuff hahaha.

Hey man, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond but here’s what I think.

I went to your bandcamp page and listened to “Perks of a Pathetic Life”. At first listen, it was rough… real rough. The vocal track was overpowering because the guitars were not EQ’d well, but I did like the guitar work. It was hard to tell what you were doing with the backing vocals and it got distracting. I think if you organize your song structure and give the recording a better shot you’ll do fine. But you have some work ahead of you.

Check out some of these bands for some ideas and inspiration. I also understand you are going for an acoustic ”pop-punk” feel, but I still think these bands/artist will help you along the way.

Good Morning music!

This morning I preformed my regular wake-up ritual — sleeping in.

After I had hit the snooze button several times I finally awoke in a chipper mood. I’m sure we all have our morning routines, for me it’s the trifecta: Pall Mall, Coffee and some good music.

It’s in the morning where I find my self reflecting heavily on the days past, what I’ve been reading, conversations I’ve had or wish I didn’t have, new faces, old faces, uplifting voices, depressing noises and the blender it all goes in — my soul and what a fickel creature you are.

I stumbled upon this song this morning, Smother//Daughter and it’s absolutely gorgeous. In a world of Zooey Deschanel’s and Regina Spektor’s (a quick mash-up I know) personally it’s hard to find a female lead group that stands out… besides that obviously cute single you put on that one girls mix tape. Daughter released an EP called Wild Youth and a single that has Smother and Run on it. Each song is beautifully layered with clean guitars that echo influence from bands like Temper Trap and Two Door Cinema Club. Daughter takes that floatings reverb style from Youth Lagoon and Magic Men that takes you into a dream-like landscape. Daughter keeps true to the blues both lyrically and stylistically, jamming alone to the emotion of the song.

Smother begins softly with acoustic tremolos and a haunting line that reminds me of Pavements song Perfect Depth — “I’m wasted, losing time I’m a foolish, fragile spine…”. The drums build steadily as the reverb picks up into a soaring cathedral tone. The tonality of this song reminds me that every-morning there is the option to keep the dreaming, and like dreams we can change them. It’s a good morning, it’s going to be a good day and I hope that this music let you know like it did for me.

The band is from Northern London and is signed to Glassnote Records. So it may be a hot minute before we see an american tour, so keep those fingers crossed. I maybe a bit behind on the news for this band but better late than never.
